So day two of classes has come and gone. We were all very excited about the inauguration today! We were also very excited because all of the other student groups left this morning, so we are the only group here! We only used one table at breakfast this morning. There are several perks to being the only major group here. You are guaranteed a seat on the porch, the computers in the lab aren't full, and best of all, the food is better! I never even thought that this was a possibility, but it's true! We had empenadas at breakfast this morning and they were sooo good! After breakfast I had my second spanish class. There were two additions to our class today, two of the Resident Naturalists who want to sharpen up their spanish. It is a lot nicer having two extra people in the class.
After class we headed to the library to stream the inauguration. We all huddled around my computer to watch. There was a lot of clapping, cheering screaming, and one person cried! (Obviously not me:). It was truly amazing to watch. Unfortunately directly after President Obama's speech we had to go to our next class, so we weren't able to watch anything more.
After lunch we did get to walk down the road to see un perezoso (a sloth!) It was very high up in a tree. It is apparently very rare to see a sloth, so we were all really excited. The rest of the day was pretty normal, Anthropology, then a break, and then geology. The sunset was beautiful this evening. Dinner was even better! We had a salad with fish, amazing tomato soup, white rice, mixed vegetables, and best of all friend yuca! I had never had Yuca before I got down here, and now I love it! It's kind of like potato, but a little different. I can't really explain it, but thee fried yuca were basically like large french fries. Soooo good! Apparently they don't make it very often and we are having better food because it is only our group and the resident naturalists. I really like only having a small group here. We are all friends with the resident naturalists, so it's kind of like we are a little family.

Caitlin crying, not possible. I'm glad you got to watch the Inauguration. We all streamed it live here at work!
